Dr. Prakash received his Masters in Microwave Engineering from IIT, Karagpur, India in 1992, and Ph.D. from IISc, Bangalore, India in 2000. He served as a Scientist at Electronics and Radar Development Establishment (LRDE), Bangalore, India from 1993 to 2000, and as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at The Pennsylvania State University (PSU), University Park, PA during August 2000 to 2002, where he is currently an Asst. Professor affiliated with Electromagnetic Communication Laboratory (ECL).
Dr. Prakash is a Senior Member of IEEE, listed in the 58th Edition of Marquis Who's Who in America (2004), won several Awards including the Young Engineer Award from Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE) in 1999, and Best Engineering Paper Award from IETE in 1999. He has published more than 60 research articles in various journals and conferences; and is a reviewer for IEEE Transactions AP journal and IEE Proc. Microwaves, Antennas and Propagation journal.
His research interests include fast solution of integral equations, parallel processing, frequency selective surfaces, slotted waveguide arrays, microstrip antennas, antenna measurements, and passive microwave component design. His research contributions at The Penn State include development of FSS simulator software, parallellized RCS code using Characteristic Basis, FEM based cross-sectional solver, and Iterative solver for MoM systems.
